Class of ‘86, Friulian by birth and education, Enrico Battocchio he encountered BIM very early on, when dealing with it was still a gamble. Curious by nature and attentive to change, Enrico after the degree in Civil Engineering, undertakes a PhD that crosses over into Building Information Modeling. In 2014, the subject, already well established abroad, was still very little frequented in Italy, especially in the academic sphere; a frontier territory, however, was already in the interests of an excellence in the area - Cimolai - which in those very years was beginning to turn to BIM to bring efficiency to the management of its projects. So Enrico Battocchio abandoned the prospect of a university career and soon started working on one of Cimolai's first BIM construction sites, the Fiumicino airport. From there, a rapid growth following major projects such as the design of a stadium and the ELT telescope until finally reaching the role of manager. Driven by the desire for new experiences, he confronted another company reality, to then mature the choice to enter in 4Dayswhere now supports the development of BIM Management strong growth.

Ad Enrico Battocchio8 questions to get to know him better.

  • What is the phrase that inspires you and in which you recognise yourself?
‘Courage. Kindness. Friendliness. Character. These are the qualities that define us as human beings and propel us, from time to time, towards our greatness.’ R.J.Palacio.
  • Your job title reads ‘Senior Consultant’. In other words?
Being a BIM Manager means supporting companies and organisations in the adoption of BIM, both at an organisational and operational level; the role requires the ability to fill any gaps in skills and train professionals to work independently. My experience in managing complex projects has allowed me to grow into the role of Senior Consultant.
  • What led you to 4Days?
  • What you take with you and what you leave behind?
With me, I bring the experiences and skills I have gained in these first years of work, as well as friendships with people who over time have turned out to be truly special. Behind me, I hope to have left good memories in the realities with which I have collaborated, where I hope that the experiences shared have allowed someone to grow both professionally and humanly.
  • In your way of working, the watchword is...
Undoubtedly sharing. I find it very rewarding to be able to share my experiences and knowledge with those around me, while at the same time allowing myself to be contaminated by those of others. I think it is the right way to grow as a person and as a professional. After all, that is why I am involved in BIM, where the words ‘sharing’ and ‘collaboration’ have a certain value.
  • How do you love to start and end your working day?
My daily routine starts with a few muscle-awakening exercises, as well as a few minutes devoted to studying Spanish, which I am approaching as a self-taught language learner. To end the day, however, I like to relax by watching a film or a compelling TV series and reading a few pages of a book.
  • What is your special project at 4Days?
Supporting the company's growth with regard to BIM Management activities will be my first goal, and I will try to make my experience gained in both large and small companies available. In the future, I hope to be able to join the Project Management team composed of people from whom I could learn a lot.
  • What you love to do on "Day 5"?
In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis with friends, cooking and taking long walks listening to podcasts on personal growth.
