Sisto Daniel Tavano for Project Management at 4Days

Un accento sull’ultima sillaba ne tradisce le origini. Perché Sisto, che di secondo nome fa Danièl, con pronuncia spagnola, divide la sua anima in due: metà friulana, l’altra decisamente più esotica. Un’eredità nata dall’incontro tra una madre originaria della Repubblica Dominicana e un padre nato a Buenos Aires, che gli ha trasmesso forse quell’apertura all’altro da cui hanno preso forma molte sue passioni​​​​. Trentacinque anni, di cui solo gli ultimi Sisto dedica all’informatica. Terminata la scuola dell’obbligo, sogni e ambizioni prendono infatti la via della musica: band, palchi ed etichetta discografica propria. A venticinque anni, però, arriva una scelta di concretezza: un percorso che lo porta alla Facoltà di Informatica di Udine -indirizzo Tecnologie web e multimediali- con un interesse marcato per marketing e psicologia​​​​​​​​​​. Conclusa la Triennale, l’ingresso immediato nel mondo del lavoro come sviluppatore in OverIT​​​​​​​​​​​, azienda da 500 dipendenti e più. Qui affronta l’informatica “sul campo”, lavorando sul backend di una piattaforma proprietaria di field service solutions, con clienti del calibro di Enel. Dopo tre anni, il desiderio di avvicinarsi a un altro elemento per lui centrale: il contatto con le persone. Così dopo anni dietro uno schermo, inizia la collaborazione con un’importante multinazionale in ambito manifatturiero del territorio, come Business Analyst​​​​​​​​​, occupandosi di studio e ottimizzazione di processi in ambito HR: dalla gestione del dipendente all’evoluzione dei flussi organizzativi. Prima come membro del team, poi rapidamente come responsabile dell’area, nel ruolo di Senior PM e Team Leader​​​​​​​​. L’incontro con 4Days, un confronto rapido con la direzione è sufficiente a convincerlo a un’ulteriore svolta, guidata da un’empatia che va oltre ruoli, stile e contesto aziendale​​​​​​​.

• What is the phrase that inspires you and in which you recognise yourself?

  I am an incurable optimist. Looking back on my life, there is one phrase that has accompanied me in many situations:

  “Always look on the bright side of things.”

  Sono convinto che non esista nulla di completamente positivo senza una controparte negativa. Per questo, credo che la vita si giochi tutta in una questione di prospettiva: sta a noi scegliere come leggere ciò che ci accade e trasformarlo in vantaggio. Questo approccio fa sì che ogni esperienza, bella o difficile che sia, diventi comunque un passo avanti, nel lavoro come nella vita.

• Your job title reads ‘Senior Consultant’. In other words?

  For me, the role of Project Manager has a deeply human dimension. I don't approach it as simply “supervising activities”, but rather as managing both the operational and relational aspects of everything that contributes to the success of a project. I am convinced that without good collaboration between people, there is no chance that a project will really work. Personally, I know that I do not know everything and that I can only fill in the gaps in my knowledge with the help of others. This is why I believe that the real task of a PM is first and foremost to ensure teamwork: to create the conditions for everyone to give their best and work towards a common goal.

• What led you to 4Days?
  The ambition of this company, combined with its strong focus on the human aspect of work, were the first values that struck me about 4Days. Finding this balance in a context made up of highly professional colleagues attracted me right away. I immediately felt that 4Days has a way of working that reflects my values. That's why I want to contribute to this ideal of professionalism.

• What you take with you and what you leave behind?
  I take with me all the lessons, inspiration and human values I have received from colleagues who have shared my career path. I am the person and professional I am today thanks to those I have met along the way: I will never take that for granted. Instead, I am leaving behind the security of a job I knew very well to face new challenges, both professional and personal, with the aim of continuing to grow in every way.

• In your way of working, the watchword is...
  Perseverance, you just need to find the right interpretation.

• How do you love to start and end your working day?
  I love to start the day calmly, without unnecessary formalities or impositions that have no real necessity, either at work or in my personal life. I love to end it with healthy physical activity: it's my way of clearing my mind, releasing residual energy and truly recharging myself.

• What is your special project at 4Days?
  Responding to the ever-changing needs of our customers. 4Days is much more than a consulting firm: it is a true partner. And my goal is to help strengthen this role even further.

• What you love to do on "Day 5"?
  Living my personal life, improving my connections with the world and with myself.
